"By the time you reach your thirties, few remain free from significant loss, disappointment, disillusionment, or the realization that things could have been done differently; in this sense, artistic expression has always been my lifeline."

                                                                                                                                                       Carolina Corvillo

Carolina Corvillo, born in Madrid in 1988, is a one of the most vibrant voices in the contemporary cultural scene. A writer, actress, dancer, co-creator, lyricist, vocalist, screenwriter, and playwright, Carolina has woven her life between words, stages, and music. Her creative soul is reflected in every project, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to experience her art.

  A Versatile Soul

Carolina is the author of the short story collection "Hambre de Pájaro," illustrated by Sastraka (MaLuma Publishing). She coordinated the anthology "Delirios de Cuarentena" and has contributed to numerous collections, including "Cantares No Autorizados del Reino de Nim," "Latidos del Mar," and "Un Mar de Letras." Her ability to intertwine fantasy, humor, and reality showcases an astounding versatility.

In her work, we find stories that explore the deepest corners of human existence. "Old Fashion Tattoo" and "Dos cadáveres pudriéndose en el río" are just examples of her ability to capture the essence of life and death with a unique sensitivity. Her story "Helena" was published in an anthology by the Autonomous University of Madrid, and "La risa de las hienas" was selected for the II Certamen Ciudad Galdós.

 Art as Salvation

In our interview, Carolina transports us to the magical worlds she has created in her theatrical works. In "Los sueños de Ariadna," she combined music, dance, and drama to narrate Greek myths with a refreshing modernity. Her work in "Hércules, el musical" under the direction of Ricard Reguant, and in "Reservoir Cats," a comedy full of life and laughter, reflects her ability to adapt and shine in any genre.

When I asked her about her life on stage, Carolina responded with the wisdom of a poet: "The contact with the audience is a unique experience, a collective, intoxicating warmth... or a crushing coldness. It is a Dionysian ritual of breaking and recomposing oneself through shared entertainment; something trivial, something profound, something unnecessary but essential."

 The Magic of Teamwork

Carolina also speaks to us about the importance of teamwork in the world of theater. "It is a microcosm where the utility of concepts like cooperation, camaraderie, and hierarchy becomes crystal clear. The whole world is synthesized there, and I feel very fortunate to have trodden the boards alongside wonderful people."

 A Creative Routine

Carolina's dedication to her art is evident in every word. "Every day I dedicate time to my projects in one way or another: writing, researching, discovering. It is a routine that I have unconsciously imposed on myself over the years. Especially since at twenty I came out of the creative closet and gathered the courage to embark on the artistic path without complexes."

 Conclusion

Carolina Corvillo is, without a doubt, an extraordinary artist. Her versatility, passion, and dedication to her art are a testament to her unparalleled talent. For those who have yet to experience her creative world, I invite you to discover her work and be swept away by the magic she so generously shares with the world.
